Welcome to the ACCCCS!The Association for the Coordination of Counseling Center Clinical Services (ACCCCS) was formed in November, 1996, when a group of clinical services coordinators and clinical services directors representing colleges and universities from around the country met at The Ohio State University to discuss common interests and concerns. Membership in the association is open to any staff member in a 2-year or 4-year college or university counseling center who is directly responsible for coordinating the clinical service aspect of the agency’s services, including the day-to-day coordination and implementation of those clinical services. Although most centers have one person in this role, some centers have two persons who share the responsibility of overseeing clinical services; each is eligible for membership and each pays the membership fee. Our 200+ members hold a variety of titles including associate director, assistant director, clinical coordinator, staff clinician, and a few are directors of small centers. Our aim is to be welcoming and inclusive to all persons in college and university counseling centers with responsibility for the coordination of clinical services. A message from our president...
Welcome to ACCCCS! We are an organization founded by collegiate mental health professionals who saw a need for connection, collaboration, and community to continue providing high quality, accessible mental health care for the students we serve. Our roles are unique within the collegiate mental health setting, often being the only person in our center carrying this responsibility. Through ACCCCS, we connect with others who truly understand our experiences as clinical coordinators and directors. In doing so, we build a community of support, mentorship, and sharing of ideas. Together, we represent the full range of collegiate institutions: large and small, public and private, research universities and community colleges. We recognize that the nature of the role can differ between institutions and we share a commitment to enriching the student experience through enhancing mental health services. I am honored to serve as the 2026-2027 president and look forward to building on our shared commitment to community, connection, knowledge sharing, and mentorship that has meant so much to me as a member of ACCCCS. If you would like to learn more about our organization, or you are a current member looking to get more involved, I would welcome the opportunity to connect.
